Chocolate Truffles.

These are so simple yet impressive, they are also hugely customisable. I've just made the basic recipe but you could add all sorts to the outside of the truffle.


To make around 20 you will need:
300ml Double Cream.
300g Dark Chocolate.
2 tablespoons Salted Butter.

Break up the chocolate up into cubes.


Then start to heat the cream on a low heat until it starts to steam. 


At this point add the butter and keep stiring until the butter has melted and reduce the heat to low. 


Add a couple of cubes of chocolate to the cream and stir it in until it has melted do this slowly otherwise the mixture might split!


Keep adding the chocolate a few cubes at a time until the mix gets darker...


And darker. Once all the chocolate is in the mix it should be thick and glossy. 


Pour this into a bowl, then lick the bowl and spoon. Put in the fridge to set for at least a couple of hours. 


Take the truffle mix out the fridge and then put some cocoa powder on a plate to roll your truffles in. 


Spoon out little hunks of chocolate and then roll it in the cocoa powder. 




Put them on a plate and place in the fridge for another half hour and then they are ready to eat.

  1. I'm on such a chocolate kick at the moment, and these look SO GOOD! And so easy too?! I'm now about to go and attack the Nutella jar ;)

    1. So easy as long as you are patient with melting the chocolate! I think I am going to attempt homemade nutella and see how that turns out!
